Empowering Communities and Transforming Lives
Helping Hands 4 Africa is a voluntary grassroots Community Based Organization working with the less fortunate populations in impacting social-economic transformation through supporting orphans and other vulnerable children (OVCs), carrying Community Health and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) Programs, Advocating for human rights, supporting PWD, Women, Elderly and Youths; Promoting Agriculture and Environmental programs.
Child Care Support
Our orphans and vulnerable children care support aims at resourcing support to meet the educational, medical, nutritional and basic support to ensure that these children reach their full potential. We also advocate for and protection of their rights, carry out moral and spiritual guidance among children at risk, promote recreational programs to enable them grow healthy, carry out psychosocial support and counseling as well as empowering their households to become self-sustainable
Community Health and WASH
We do this through organizing free medical expeditions/camps, supporting community health facilities with infrastructure, better sanitation facilities, safe water sources, better lighting systems, and establishing community health facilities where they have never existed. We also carry out community health education/awareness interventions such as safe water chain management, better solid waste management, Oral hygiene and hand washing education as well as personal hygiene management.
Community Empowerment
We work with Women, Elderly and Youths through engaging them in economic and skill empowerment of vulnerable youth and women through adopting the Unite, Learn, Earn and Save approach as well as the self-help concept. We also promote women participation in good governance, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights information among adolescents. and regarding the elderly, we do carry out home based care and other basic support.
